I observed some months after installing my blade stealth that the battery performance was dropping—just a few more months and there was clear swelling on the back of the unit. I removed it to discover a swollen cell inside. Razer’s support team didn’t help much, so I bought a replacement myself. The new official battery only lasted just over an hour, and again it faded quickly. I’m now unsure what’s going wrong and worried about getting another issue. Also, when taking the battery out this time, there was a black residue on the connector that stayed in place. My friend suggested it might be due to the laptop being connected to an eGPU most of the time, but shouldn’t the battery manage power supply? He recommended keeping the battery separate and only using it when needed, which seems impractical. Any suggestions on what might be causing this or how to resolve it would be really helpful—I’m feeling quite confused right now!

The fresh battery was essentially an older model. Don’t use it. What you’re witnessing is top-tier quality in action. You were pleasantly surprised your 2019 still functions well, since most units fail around two years old. Finding a genuine aftermarket replacement is extremely challenging and costly. The same problems you’re facing now are likely due to its thinness combined with high power demands.
