For all Athlon 3000G users, review your CPU-Z report to confirm the chip type—Picasso or Raven Ridge. Picasso’s reported "CMOS" is 14 nm, as shown on AMD’s product page: https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-athlon-3000g. This detail has spread widely across wiki articles. A Raven Ridge model would feature Model 1 Ext. Model 11, similar to the Athlon 200GE: https://valid.x86.fr/zqdm8f. Are there any 14 nm 3000G units available?

Mine is 100% a 12 nm Picasso part. All the CPU-Z submissions also show Picasso CPUID's. Well... I was wrong on this.

TPU claims the Athlon 3000G is a Raven Ridge chip built on 14nm technology. Picasso would be a 3200G. TechPowerUp's review discusses this, noting that CPU-Z might be inaccurate. The article also links to a review of the AMD Athlon 3000G with Vega 3 graphics.

My 3000G shows a Picasso CPUID code. This means the processor is handling instructions in a specific way that can't be easily described otherwise. It boosts to 4.1 GHz (a big jump for Zen, typical for Zen+). The stepping pattern matches that of a Picasso 3200G. (OPN MPK: https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-3-3200g https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-athlon-3000g) Compare with Raven Ridge's "FB" stepping here: https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-3-2200g This confirms it's definitely a Picasso CPU. Edit: Further confirmation that it isn't a misreport from CPU-Z: Windows displays in decimal, so this falls under Ext. Family 17h, Model 18h. Edit: The Athlon 3000G is a Raven2 model. I recently made changes to that piece of writing earlier this morning. It appears many versions share similar ideas. I’m curious about the Raven 3000G if it’s available.

After some research, it appears the 3000G isn't Picasso but another distinct chip. The die shape differs from Raven Ridge and Picasso's—squared versus rectangular—and matches the Zen-based 14nm designs like Dali/Banded Kestrel, which use 2C4T and Vega 3 graphics. These parts were likely updated around 2019 to boost performance beyond the original Zen architecture. This is just a guess, though. The clear evidence is that my 3000G reaches 4.1 GHz, whereas the 1200 tops at 3.75 GHz. I’d love to test a Raven Ridge part for confirmation.

I’m looking back at an older subject to help others avoid this issue. I bought an AMD Athlon 3000g and got a YD3000C6FBBOX instead of the YD3000C6FHBOX model. When I reached out to AMD, they informed me they had released a newer version, switching from Picasso (HFBOX) to Raven Ridge (FBBOX).
