I've secured 55 competitive matches with a win percentage around 48%, yet I've never reached the silver tier. I've played silver 2 multiple times and generally hold my own, though I'm not usually the top scorer and rarely finish as last. Is this typical? I've only revoked one ban for harming teammates—one was my responsibility, the second involved someone running ahead at t spawn dust 2. Recently, I've won three games and consistently placed in the top two each time. Anyone has tips on improving my performance?

Are you competing against beginners? You won't climb that high. I've only faced stronger players before, with 48 wins and Nova Master being a big factor.

Looking into the details, it seems the scoring system is quite intricate. For example, with a new account you've managed just 8 wins, but playing alongside skilled friends in the lobby can boost your ranking significantly—reaching a gold nova level after ten victories.

I'm mainly silver in build but have played silver 2 quite often and usually perform well, ranking in the top 3 or 2. Recently I played a match with a bot from round one, which I doubted was possible since you should start with 10 players and we still won—this was my third consecutive victory. None of my friends have a PC, and any invites I send for higher-ranked games are often ignored. It feels like progress comes more from grinding than from luck. You're right to keep pushing; I shouldn't be surprised if after 55 wins it feels surprising. I'm not a top player, but not reaching rank 55 after that many wins is unexpected.

I've got 55 of those under my belt, so it's more than just a guess. Just cleaned up and thought I'd get used to playing against silver players. Honestly, the best player I've ever had was an unranked one—he wasn't great, but his chat was worth it. I've got the recording ready to share someday. Drinking and gaming aren't really helping much, but the game keeps going. It's brilliant yet frustrating. Wish there was a way to play only with people who use mics; I've learned that teamwork really matters.

I really can't push my real friends to spend money on a PC like I'd like. It would help me climb a few ranks in CS Go, but I don't want to pressure anyone.

Well, 48% suggests a pattern where you win one match, lose one, then win another and lose another. Based on your 70 matches, it seems you're aiming for a specific win-loss sequence. You might need at least three wins followed by one loss, or you could reach out to this person for guidance.
