Recently my new PC suddenly cuts all signals to my two monitors and sets all fans to maximum speed, stopping only after I force a reboot. I can't use it because the monitors won't work even after five minutes. I've tried everything: reinstalling Windows 11, updating drivers, checking internal connections, sending the GPU to the vendor for repair (they found nothing), and it disappeared for a month before coming back. My hardware specs are: GPU - Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24GB; CPU - Intel Core I9 13900K; cooler - Corsair H150I; RAM - 2x16GB at 4800MHz; motherboard - Gigabyte Z790 Aourus Elite AX; PSU - Seasonic Prime PX-1300 (1300W); storage - two 1TB Samsung 980 1 Pro drives, one 2TB Samsung 870 EVO; case - Corsaire ICUE 7000X RGB. I only experienced the issue while playing Battlefield 2042 Windows Stability History shows unannounced shutdowns, which seems to be my fault when I forced a shutdown. I don't have any further details right now.
I last managed to locate a solution using OCCT power testing. My CPU reached 100°C, all cores throttled down, while the GPU stayed at 70°C. It seems my CPU might be overheating, which could be why it’s shutting down for safety.
