Not long ago I purchased an older gaming computer. Its components were quite old, though it could handle newer titles. It would shut down unexpectedly during gameplay and often felt sluggish. I suspected overheating was the cause, so I reapplied thermal paste and made sure the case was clean, dust-free, and all fans were operating properly. Later, I upgraded several parts: 4x8GB RAM, a Ryzen 5600X processor, and an MSI B550 M.2 motherboard. All connections were secure and there were no further overheating issues. I also switched to Windows 11 (activated). The random shutdowns still occur, but only when launching games for about ten minutes—idling or watching movies doesn’t trigger them. I regularly check for driver updates, especially for the graphics card, but nothing seems to resolve the problem. I’m exhausted from trying everything without success.

Have you refreshed your profile info? Have you tested with a 16GB RAM configuration, perhaps using both A1/B1 and A2/B2 options? Are all settings at their default levels? Did you monitor temperatures during gameplay?

You're investing without completing the simple checks that could resolve the issue. There are several other easy options you might explore before spending anything.

The issue stems from the power supply. It was a budget option, but I replaced it with a new Corsair RM850X modular and it has worked perfectly.
