It might help to reposition the setup again. Which riser are you employing? Does it accommodate PCIe 4? It's possible the included riser lacks full bandwidth, causing slower performance. Consider removing the riser and connecting directly to the GPU if feasible.

I've just reached out to the company regarding that issue. It's a GPU riser included with my Thermaltake p3 core case—it's designed specifically for this chassis. Unfortunately, I can't locate its specifications yet, so I've sent an email. Could a damaged riser be causing these crashes? And could you display the reduced lane count?

Damaged risers may lead to fewer lanes. Uncertain about crashes. I think the PC might stop sending data if some wires get shorted, but it could also be due to internal damage causing missing data lines and errors. You mentioned an open-style case—please lay it out clearly and use the GPU directly in the PCIe slot. Avoid a floating GPU setup while troubleshooting. How often do these crashes occur?

The fewer lanes available might result from CPU lanes being utilized or divided due to HDDs, SSDs, etc., and possibly only an x8 lane remains. It could also stem from a nearly full drive causing a crash because swap space was exhausted.
