Random system failures and reboots on a PC are common issues.
I assembled my PC in 2020 and experienced no issues until recently. Daily it would either freeze, requiring me to power it on and off, or it would shut down abruptly and restart. I searched for others with similar problems but didn’t find a fix. Initially, I thought it was a power supply fault, but crashes mainly occurred during light tasks like watching videos or browsing the web rather than heavy workloads. Some suggested it might be a RAM issue. Please let me know if you need a parts list. Hardware: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (founders edition), G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 16GB x2, MSI MEG x570 Unify (MS-7C35), CORSAIR RM850x.
Verify the CMOS power level. Ensure you possess the most recent BIOS, newest AMD chipset drivers (excluding the motherboard vendor), and current GPU drivers. Look for Windows updates. Turn off MultiPlane Overlay MPO. Perform an SFC scan.
