Hello, I posted about a problem my computer was freezing unexpectedly and restarting without a blue screen a few weeks ago. Now I’m working with Corsair, and my PSU is being sent for replacement. In the meantime, I have a 500W FSP power supply installed (I haven’t run heavy programs that demand maximum power). Still, I encountered the same freezing issue this morning, even though I had only one open Chrome tab. I’ve reset the CPU to factory defaults, but the GPU remains at overclocked settings. If anyone can explain what might be going wrong—especially since none of these components are more than a year old except the storage—I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks!
It seems the issue is evident. Seriously, consider updating your BIOS and resetting everything to factory settings. If problems persist, check your RAM, motherboard, or CPU—try reinserting the modules one at a time or testing without any installed components.
Thanks, Ill give reseating the ram a go. I did do a windows test on the ram before all came back good, I can't replicate when the freezes occur so I'm a bit reluctant to test each ram stick out. Thanks for the suggestions
Verify using the event viewer. Navigate to admin events and search for any red warning signs and yellow alerts. Check if any warning events occurred during shutdown and freezing. Issues with Windows due to faulty or corrupted drivers can lead to freezing and reboots. A simple test involves installing Windows on a spare hard drive and observing performance. You might also try booting in safe mode to see if it freezes there.
I've checked the event manager settings and found no issues causing the freeze. It seems the system didn't anticipate a shutdown, which is the only recorded event. In the past, it would freeze, turn black, and then restart, but now it just freezes and becomes stuck.
