Hello everyone, I'm facing a tough issue with my system. I've checked numerous online solutions, but nothing seems to work. My new PC keeps restarting unexpectedly—only during Heaven Benchmark and a few titles like Warthunder and Sekiro. Other games run smoothly for extended periods (Yakuza 0, Forza 5, DS3). The problem is these crashes occur without any logs, no blue screen, no event viewer entries, and no crash reports. Initially, I suspected overheating or power issues since my PSU is only 650W. However, MSI data shows CPU and GPU temperatures stay below 60°C in Sekir. I've adjusted graphics settings to low and managed power usage at around 85W. I've tried several fixes: updating BIOS, installing the latest GPU drivers (3080 MSI Ventus 12GB), cleaning and reverting drivers, and even checking if a switch connection was misaligned. No success so far. It's frustrating because continuing to play other games feels like guessing. Any suggestions on troubleshooting steps or ways to capture more logs during these events?

You're using a decent 650W PSU. If it's not delivering consistent power or seems subpar compared to options like EVGA G3, Seasonic Prime, or Seasonic Focus, then it might be the issue.

Yes, it's considered a high-performance GX 80+ gold unit based on PSU tier lists.

the psu tierl in this forums is outdated. the updated version is available on their own site. the 2022 focus has been resolved, though previous updates were incomplete. there are noise problems on the 12V sense rail, which caused tripping issues. fixing it took about five years, as noticed when AMD VEGA launched. if you don’t want a new psu, you can cut the sense wire—just search online, but doing so may void your warranty and I’m not responsible for any resulting damage.

I believe I received it in early 2022, though I should verify the serial number for the exact release year. My main concern is damaging the PSU rather than the warranty, but I’ll consider your advice if I’m really desperate.

We need more than 650 watts, mainly due to the significant temporary power surges the 30 series can handle. A high-quality unit with at least 750 watts is suggested.

Reviews suggest this GPU (MSI Ventus 3080 12GB Plus 3X) typically draws under 350W. However, some users are increasingly linking performance drops to power supply issues, especially during intense gaming sessions. In the case of War Thunder, the system restarts around 5 minutes after booting, sometimes even faster when starting a match.
