Random PC resets for MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (3700x)
I have a brief concern about an issue that has begun occurring recently. Occasionally, I would restart my PC while performing some tasks away from it. I assumed it might be linked to a Windows update, perhaps running during the login screen and rebooting once the update finished, but that didn’t happen. Now it happens occasionally—maybe 1-2 times a week. Recently it’s been happening repeatedly even after logging in. It seems like a complete reset, with the PC turning off and restarting every 5-10 minutes. I checked the Windows system logs for errors or critical warnings, but found nothing conclusive. The only entries that appear are related to this behavior. In Danish, I searched for the error, but even then it didn’t point to a CPU problem. I changed my RAM from 16GB to 32GB, thinking it might be causing random resets, but switching back to the original 16GB worked fine. I also updated the BIOS to the latest version. My system runs a 3700x on a B450 Tomahawk MAX motherboard with 16GB of Ballistix memory from Crusial, MSI 2070S PSU, and I’ve run stress tests without issues. Cinebench R23 on loop shows my CPU at 65°C (Noctua NH D15) and the GPU matches. It doesn’t seem to be due to overheating.
