Random keyboard and mouse issues causing disconnections or lag
I recently set up a brand new Windows 10 system and occasionally, even when idle, the mouse would lag and the keyboard would disconnect and reconnect as if restarting. The issue persists regardless of unplugging and plugging in, sometimes the keys stop working entirely. I've tested various USB ports, turned off any power-saving features, and switched to a different keyboard without any improvement. Everything seems updated from OS to BIOS. If this continues, I'm considering running a Ryzen 2600 with B450 motherboard.
I experienced this problem before the mouse would lag when the CPU was under heavy use. Check the task manager for any issues. Your peripherals are likely wireless and connected via the same adapter. There could be a compatibility issue between your keyboard and mouse. It might help to plug the hub directly into your computer, as voltage protection could be interfering somewhere. The link you shared is useful—thanks!
Hello, thank you for your message. The problem occurred when the system was running very lightly with no activity. Previously, disconnecting the keyboard completely and checking via Task Manager showed no load. I have a USB cable and my mouse is wireless; I tried connecting them to different MOSI ports on my USB hub, but nothing changed. I also tested connecting the keyboard to an USB3 port and the mouse to an USB2 port to confirm compatibility. The issue persists. I’m thinking about whether it’s related to voltage or the motherboard. Any advice would be appreciated.
