Hey everyone, from the title it’s a bit unclear what’s happening. I just started college and had to give up my PC, so I looked for a budget laptop on sale to play some games and maybe work on CAD. The issue is that when I try games like League of Legends or Valorant, my graphics are really poor—almost terrible. I thought I was saving money but didn’t realize a 2050 with a Ryzen 7 7535HS would struggle at 40 FPS. After some research, I found my CPU usage stays low (10-20%, max 25%). I tried restarting and updating drivers, which helped for a while: around 240 FPS in Valorant, 144+ in League, and 60-85% CPU usage. Now sometimes the CPU drops back to just 10-20%. The problem isn’t always consistent, so when I launch a game I either get very low frames or decent ones depending on the title. If anyone has advice or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to ask questions about my explanation—I can even run some tests if you want to dig deeper. Thanks for checking out my post! Also, the laptop model is a 15-fb1000ca if you want to check the specs yourself and see if that helps identify the issue.

I initially think it might be related to thermal limits and overheating. Next, I suggest checking the drivers—update all of them and remove the existing GPU driver before installing the newest one.

Hey man thanks for reading. For your first suggestion, I highly doubt it because I could have come home from classes with the laptop shut off for the whole day and have a random chance at it either working properly or not. Also its not like a thermal throttling issue as even at 90+ degrees for gpu, it still gives 200ish fps when working properly. I also do have the computer plugged in to make sure its getting enough power. As for updating the drivers I will try tmr morning in uninstalling them and re installing them. Thanks for your insight. : )
