Random BSOD
Random BSOD
Hello, I've noticed the BSOD appears frequently while gaming and using browsers. Here are the details of my system:
GPU: ASUS Radeon ROG RX 6800 Gaming OC 16 GB GDDR6 256 bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 4.6GHz 35MB
Motherboard: ASUS Prime B550M-K 4600MHz (OC) DDR4
BIOS version: Prime B550M-K BIOS 3802
RAM: Adata XPG Spectrix D41 TUF RGB 8 GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200 MHz CL16
PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 750b 750W 80+ Bronze 135mm
Case: ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 RGB
OS & Version: Windows 11 Pro 24h2
GPU drivers: AMD driver - WHQL driver version 25.2.1
Chipset drivers: AMD B550 chipset drivers (latest version)
What I did:
- Updated BIOS
- Installed the latest GPU driver (Duo)
- Updated Lan and sound drivers
- Ran Windows RAM tester – no issues found
- Tested 3D Mark – no crashes occurred
- Scored 14,093 in Time Spy
Some of my runs:
OCCT - 3D Adaptive
-Variable intensity from 10 to 60
Increase by 4% every 30 seconds
VRAM: 80%
Stable for 10 minutes without crashes or anomalies.

On certain days I can play continuously for 6-7 hours without problems, but on others it crashes after 2-3 hours. Sometimes I alt-tab or crash during loading when making new units or moving around the map.
Some of the games I played:
- Age of Empire Mythology Retold
- Some days I can play non-stop for 6-7 hours
- Other times it crashes after 2-3 hours
- When loading a new unit or moving around the map
- When trying to match and loading to the next map
- During Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak – mid-hunt or while searching for a build
Apps:
- Firefox – when watching YouTube and alt-tabbed
- Chiaki (PS4 remote play) – when alt-tabbed
Anyone can assist me?
What temperature ranges are typically observed during BSoD occurrences?
Updated the BIOS information.
Ensured the CMOS was cleared after a successful BIOS flash.
Kept the GPU driver updated using DDu to the latest version.
Recommended using DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then installing the newest AMD driver from their support site via an elevated command.
Checked the power supply unit details: ASUS TUF Gaming 750b 750W 80+ Bronze 135mm.
Inquired about the age of the PSU.
Asked if the BSoD appeared following an operating system update.
Hi, unfortunately due to the way crashes occur I can't check the exact temperature, but I'm certain they never got too high.
My usual gaming settings look like this:
Gpu=55-65 Hot-spot max 70
Cpu=60-65
I only changed the settings back to factory defaults and honestly I was nervous about touching the PC.
Yes, I always kept updating as you mentioned.
Unfortunately, the older version (24.5.1) had a strange alt tab issue but didn't cause crashes—I was using that version for a short time.

My PSU is about 2 years and half old.
I'm not sure, but if I recall correctly, there were crashes last December around 23:02 (if that's correct), though I was on that version for a short period.
Later this year I updated to 24h2 and crashes became more frequent.
