Random audio pop and crack effects from the Rog Z690
Hi there, welcome! I’m just starting out with PC builds and recently swapped out my motherboard and CPU to the ROG Z690 and i9-12900K. After putting everything together, I did a fresh Windows 11 Pro install and noticed some audio problems—random pops or crackles every few minutes. I searched online but didn’t find a solution yet. This is frustrating because I rely heavily on my PC for music playback. The issue seems to affect headphones, speakers, earphones, and even the monitor speaker, suggesting a hardware concern rather than software. I’ve updated the audio drivers and BIOS to the latest version from ASUS, tried reinstalling the driver after restarting, but it still doesn’t work. I also saw that other Z690 boards with the Alc408X audio chip experience similar issues—anyone have tips or advice? Thanks a lot!
