Hello everyone, last month I assembled my initial PC and began with 32 GB of Trident Z Neo 3600 CL16-16-16-36 RAM (https://www.gskill.com/product/165/326/1...N-Overview). The previous week I acquired a second set, but it didn’t boot up at the required 3600 MT/s. Now I’m considering purchasing a full 64 GB unit and a compatible motherboard. ASUS lists support for several Trident Z Neo 4*16 GB kits (https://rog.asus.com/de/motherboards/rog...qvl_memory). The fastest option among them is this one: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/326/1...B-(4x16GB)). This model features 16-19-19-39 timings. G.Skill also mentions a 4*16 GB CL16-16-16-36 kit (https://www.gskill.com/product/165/326/1...16Q-64GTZN) that they claim works with the Strix X570-E Gaming. They even note ASUS confirms compatibility with X570-E and Matisse CPUs on that board (https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/So...190912.pdf).

Some questions remain: Does anyone successfully use this 64 GB CL16-16-16-36 kit with an ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi II? Why does it work with the standard X570-E but not with the passively cooled version? TL;dr: ASUS states that a 64 GB G.Skill CL16-16-16-36 kit isn’t compatible with the ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi II, yet G.Skill asserts compatibility. You're going to find this 4x16GB 3600 CL16-16-16-36 setup really tough. It's not about your motherboard's limits—it's more about your CPU's capacity. Those specific timings suggest the board is likely a Samsung B-Die. Using dual rank 16GB DIMMs means you're dealing with two memory modules, but the Ryzen controller struggles when it needs to manage four ranks. Running two of these before failure points to a weak memory controller, making it difficult to support four dual rank B Die sticks. The 4x16 configuration should work better because the timings indicate it's probably not B Die and is more likely dual rank, reducing stress on the controller.
