Tell me the steps needed to set the frequency to 3,866mhz on your Asus Strix Z270 with an i7 7700K. I tried various methods but couldn't get it to boot. I remember using a 2x8 configuration previously and now have a 4x8 setup.

It would rely on several elements like the performance of the memory controller in your CPU, the condition of the DIMMs' memory chips, and your motherboard or firmware. Determining which timings ensure stability can only be done through testing and adjusting both timing settings and voltage levels.

You've hit the maximum capabilities of the IMC on that CPU. Four sticks are more taxing than two. What's the point of 3600MHz if you need 3866? Is it a single 4x8GB package or a combination of two F4-3600C17D-16GTZR units?

Thank you for the response. It's not about the speeds, just the enthusiastic spirit, nothing more. By the way, they were merged, achieved 2x8 during the setup, and about a year later.

The greater the number of sticks, the lower the maximum speed tends to be—generally. With two distinct kits involved, the situation becomes even more uncertain.
