I just started here, so please be friendly. I bought some new RAM for my Ryzen 2700x because the old one wasn’t working properly. The RAM I got was a Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 32GB (2x16GB) at 3200MHz CL16 DDR4. I installed it yesterday, enabled XMP 1, and it worked well overnight. This morning when I turned on my PC, it didn’t boot at all—just stayed idle. There was no beeping, but the computer didn’t respond. After forcing a shutdown and restart, it started again. Later I noticed the RAM was only running at 2400MHz instead of 3200MHz. I tried enabling XMP 2 (3000MHz), but it still stuck at 2400MHz. Then I turned XMP off and set it to 2933, which is supported by my CPU, but it still didn’t reach the full speed. The system booted normally without any issues. My setup looks like this: CPU – Ryzen 2700x, Board – Gigabyte X570 Gaming, RAM – Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4, GPU – Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2070, PSU – 650W Gold. I’ve got a photo of the BIOS showing it was at 2600MHz even though it was set to 3200MHz. Any suggestions?

Have you looked for a faulty module or RAM slot? Is your CPU OC fully stable at 100%? Consider slightly increasing the CPU voltage (around 1.1V or up to 1.2V maximum) – perhaps the memory controller just needed a bit more power.

this situation has happened before, but updating the BIOS at 3900x and x570 seemed to fix it. In your case, it appears you should reset the CMOS again and try once more. I attempted until it resolved, then stopped touching it. For dual rank Zen+ on 3200, running at 3000 might help—consider using memtest86 to check stability.

According to what I understand, both the RAM and RAM slots function correctly (though I can perform additional tests, the system remains quite stable). The CPU hasn't been overclocked. I'm willing to try it, even though I haven't done it before—it could be worth a shot.

Check if your RAM uses dual-channel setup. It’s typically the second closest to the CPU and the furthest from it. If not, you won’t be getting optimal performance.

I reverted the BIOS and adjusted the voltage manually for the RAM, then set it to XMP 2 at 3000MHz. The system still shows 2400MHz, which is confusing because it worked before. I’m puzzled about this change.

It is set up in dual Channel Configuration according to your Mobo settings.

You've already tried fixing everything, but now you're stuck. Do you have the newest AMD chipset driver? It might be worth checking your RAM and running MemTest 2400 to see if there are any issues.

I took a memory test using Windows' standard version, two attempts, and nothing showed up. Also, please confirm you have the most recent drivers installed. I reinstalled Windows after getting the new RAM.
