I have a Ryzen 5 1600 AF with an ASUS B450M-A motherboard and a single 8GB RAM stick (G.Skill Aegis F4-3000C16S-8GB). I’m using an X570 processor and an RX 580 graphics card. Initially, I used the XMP profile but the system would reboot constantly. I then experimented with manual frequency and timing adjustments, raising it from 2133 to 3000, but it didn’t work. I increased the voltage to 1.4 and tried different timings, even testing 26xx frequencies without success. I also checked safe values in the Ryzen Drm calculator, but nothing changed. It appears this machine isn’t overclocking well. Any advice?

Is this performance reliable at 2667 MT/s? The Ryzen 5 1600 promises that speed, but note it's a lower-end model in the AF range, meaning you might have chosen silicon with less power.

I understand ram should be paired, but the prices here are quite high. The 2x4 stick is much more expensive than a single 8 stick, which is odd. I’m planning to buy one now and add another later with the same part number. The stick is located in channel B1 since A1 is blocked by the CPU fan. Also, the motherboard restarts twice and boots fine on the third, but it shows a message about past system instability from previous POST attempts.
