Planning to purchase a build soon, I need to check if a 16GB RAM with 3200MHz frequency is safe for my Ryzen 5 2600X. The motherboard supports 3200MHz, but only via overclocking (ASUS ROG Strix B350-F). Should I try overclocking from 2666MHz to 3200MHz? Also, will the motherboard be able to start my RAM at 2666MHz if that’s its maximum without overclocking?

When the RAM is rated at 3200, the only task required is to activate XMP in the BIOS.
