Hello, I’m looking to boost my RAM speed. I have a Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 Vengeance RGB PRO SL, and it’s paired with an MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus motherboard and an i7 10700KF CPU. Could you share your recommended overclock settings or give some tips?
Starting with any OC configurations isn't useful here. Each setup behaves differently and needs unique adjustments. For overclocking, your current speed is 3600MHz, which is quite solid. I recommend fine-tuning the timings and aiming to reduce CAS latency to 15 or 16. Begin by setting your CL to 17, run memtest86 briefly, then gradually decrease further. Focus on optimizing tRCD, tRP, and tRAS. If issues arise, slightly increase the DRAM voltage.

When you try to save your changes (F10), it alerts you about adjusting the voltage and timings. If a memory OC fails and recovers, you’ll notice the original voltage values again even though you’ve set them manually, and the frequency will also reflect the same settings. Obtain a FAT32 flash drive and press F12 to capture a screenshot of your voltage configuration for our reference. This visual will help us better assist you.
Reviewed the data – only 1.2v appears in the BIOS, but the system voltage remains at 1.4 as configured. The issue during startup with CL16 persists.
