RAM OC 1866 to 2133
RAM OC 1866 to 2133
Hi Guys,
Just checking if anything bad could happen to my system. I updated my 1866 Hyper X Fury to 2133 via the BIOS and adjusted the multiplier, but it still works fine—voltages are unchanged and timing is set automatically. The only change was the multiplier value. So far, my PC hasn’t crashed, but I’m worried about potential damage I might regret later. Thanks!
No, it won't cause any harm. The system could pause under stress due to unstable settings, but this won't affect anything. If this happens, simply reduce the settings or adjust the voltage slightly. Have you performed any stability checks?
Not really...just ran a stress test through AMD overdrive for a few minutes. Played a bit of Far Cry 4 and Dota 2, everything seems fine. But I don’t notice much change before and after the OC. I’m using an AMD A10 7850K. I’m still learning about this OC stuff and reading up on stabilization and timing tests.
