Hello everyone! I’m facing a problem where my RAM isn’t being recognized by the system. It seems everything boots up normally—lights, fans, RGB, water pump—but my Corsair RAM stays off and there’s no error screen. No LED codes appear on the motherboard either. This happened when I tried to upgrade from 2700 to 5800x. I thought my BIOS would support the new speed, but it looks like it didn’t. My specs include a Ryzen 2700 with 32GB (4x8GB), Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz, RTX 3090, and other components. My rig worked fine yesterday, but I’ve already done a CMOS reset, tested different slots, and even removed one stick to rule out issues. Now I’m back to the 2700 to fix things, but the problem persists.
Your board is compatible with a 5800X, though availability varies across BIOS releases. If you've owned this board for a while and haven't updated the BIOS recently, it may not yet support the 5800X. You'll need to reinstall your old CPU, refresh the BIOS, and then attempt the upgrade again.

Hardcore cables can be a pain. I reached out to Asus Canada support and they followed the same process I followed. They said the board was likely damaged, and since my peripherals weren’t receiving power, it seemed like a 1 in 1000 chance the new CPU was corrupting my BIOS. They mentioned an RMA is coming in. I didn’t have any issues with the 5800x, but I’ve never seen a new CPU brick the board before. Hopefully, EZ Flash exists or at least a removable BIOS chip will make things easier. I’m hoping for a thorough clean while I wait... HAHA!
