RAM not compatible? Need assistance.
Hello everyone. I'm currently using: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI (latest BIOs version), Ryzen 5 3600x with 2 x 8 GB Trident Z @ 3200 MHz, RTX 2070 S. I attempted to upgrade to two x 16 Trident Z NEO variants @ 3600 MHz CL16-19-19-39 but haven't achieved stable results from the stock or auto configurations, without any overclocking. I've applied XMP profiles and manually set CL timings at 1.35V. There seems to be something missing. I'm really puzzled, especially since Linus' recommendations focus heavily on 3600 MHz RAM for Ryzen 3K models. I've experimented with two different RAM configurations and still can't identify the problem. Initially, I thought the first set might just be faulty, but it turned out otherwise. I haven't found any clear guidance online. The main issues I notice when booting into Windows are audio distortion, which worsens even when lowering the audio quality to the minimum in Windows. Eventually, my PC shuts down and restarts after only about 10 minutes of use. It appears there might be a problem with the BIOS, possibly related to the CL timings or other settings, but I've adjusted them accordingly. I'm not very familiar with BIOS tweaks, but I know some basic concepts. My HDD is around 7 or 8 years old and might be struggling to keep up. Thank you for your time and any insights you can offer!
Hi, I installed the RAM in the standard slots on the motherboard.
I'm checking whether you purchased two 16GB drives or four 8GB drives. You might want to start with one drive at a time to identify the faulty one. Go through your BIOS settings as usual, but install only a single stick each session.
Is this meant to check if everything is functioning correctly? You're confused about testing performance at reduced speeds. Thanks for clarifying!
