I've never encountered this problem before, but I recently bought the Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz kit (CMH32GX4M2D3600C18). I noticed my motherboard, ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming, won't boot when I enable XMP. Even when I set everything to AUTO except the frequency at 3600 MHz, it still doesn’t work. The maximum stable speed is around 3400 MHz... That’s not the only odd behavior—I’ve also seen my FSB shift between about 99.3 MHz and 100.3 MHz, and both the North Bridge Clock and CPU multiplier change during AIDA64, affecting my memory tests. It seems more problematic than my Hyper X 2400 kit with L1, L2, and L3 cache speeds. I tried setting the kit to 2133 MHz just to check, but it didn’t help much. Am I making a mistake or missing something?
The sticks in slots 2 and 4 seem positioned after the CPU socket in sequence 1234. Variations in BCLK are typical and referred to as spread spectrum, designed to handle interference from nearby devices.
Yes, it started in versions 1 and 3, but I've tested 2 and 4 without any change.
According to Intel's own info, the CPU only supports DDR4-2666MHz. It seems you might be trying to exceed its limits.
