It would be strange if a transistor or capacitor simply disappeared... This board costs $400. Yet it’s possible, after all.

The socket appears to be fine. No signs of broken traces are visible.

The MoBo repaired itself? I’m not sure, but I just changed everything from my Z170-E setup. After a few startup cycles, I saw the AMI splash screen! I have no idea how it happened, but I’m glad.
