I recently purchased two 16GB 3600 Corsair Vengeance Pro units, replacing the previous 4x8 3200 Corsair Vengeance. I'm using an i-9 9900K CPU and a Z390 Aorus Elite MOBO. The problem I'm facing is frequent game crashes and freezing when using the 3600 sticks, even causing a blue screen once. I've tried adjusting XMP settings and manually setting frequencies, but nothing resolved the issue. After swapping in my older 4x8 3200 RAM, the PC entered a boot loop for minutes before returning to a stable state after resetting back. As you might guess, I'm still new to PC setup—any advice would be super helpful!

just replace the new sticks 4x8 with a tougher setup for both the board and IMC because it has four sticks and dual rank, unlike the single rank 2x16 kit. Dual rank works better, so you’re effectively downgrading (your current 4x8 should match or exceed the 3600 kit). Also, the sticks meant to be easier are now failing—this is just a fault, and I recommend swapping your current kit for a 4000-4400 depending on your CPU specs at 1.45V VCC. Don’t bother with the new kit if you can upgrade your existing one.

Confirming the setup based on available RAM ICS. Please share a photo of the thaiphoon burner to check the ICS. Also, is this a complete 4x8 package or just two separate 2x8 units combined? If mixed, provide four screenshots showing each stick for verification. The memory controller in the 9900K should have solid performance with around 4400 volts, which is typical. Regarding RAM, I think you likely won’t need more than 1.6V unless you’re wasting power or affecting timing.

I saved the Thaiphoon Burner and have some questions about using it. I plan to test it at 4400 at 1.45V. It looks like it's the same setup as the 4x8 RGB Corsair Vengeance Pro.

After testing various frequencies, I couldn't get my PC out of the boot loop. The only option left was to reset it back to the original settings.

The reality is, if it can't even perform at the advertised speed, it's highly improbable. I suggest investing in more RAM and using just two sticks rather than four.

i've been using these sticks for a while now, but they aren't the standard 4x8 set i bought. I got them as 2x8 and added two more, and they function just fine. The new 2x16 kit with a higher frequency doesn't perform well enough for my needs.
