Hey everyone, I’m facing serious problems with my RAM setup. About a month ago, one of my modules started behaving oddly. After checking Device Manager, I realized only half the installed memory was available. In the BIOS, only a single RAM stick showed up. When I replaced it, the system booted but there were still no errors. I swapped out the working stick and tried again, but nothing changed—no post detected.

I switched to another RAM module, which worked temporarily, but games kept crashing. Eventually, I installed a different kit and it functioned better, though it caused instability with frequent crashes. Once the new components arrived, everything stabilized for a couple of weeks. Then, within an hour, the same issue returned in the same slot.

I suspected the motherboard was the culprit, so I replaced it and bought a fresh RAM stick. After installing the new motherboard and RAM, I managed about two weeks before the problem resurfaced again in the same slot. At that point, I thought it might be the CPU, so I ordered a replacement, along with another RAM module. After a weekend of troubleshooting, the issue returned in the other slot too.

Now I’m convinced it’s the CPU. I’ve purchased a new one and another RAM kit, but I’m frustrated because I keep running into the same problem. Everything boots fine now except when a stick fails, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to fix this.

Here are my original specs:
- Intel Z790 Edge Wi-Fi
- i7-13700K
- 32GB TFLOPS DDR5 7200MHz CL 34 (2x16)
- RTX 4080
- M.2 TFLOPS PCIe 5.0 DDR5 5600MHz CL 30 (2x32)
- M.2 A850G PCIe Gen4

Current setup:
- Asus ROG Z790 A Gaming Wi-Fi
- i7-14700K
- 64GB G.Skill Flare DDR5 5600MHz CL 30 (2x32)

Right now, the original kit was unstable in my old system and I haven’t tested it in a game yet. I’ll update if more issues arise. As for me, I’m tired of constantly switching between RAM sticks and dealing with crashes.

They're operating in slot 7, and no returns have been issued for these items.

I haven't encountered any problems yet, but with so many issues I'm starting to question if the CPU or motherboard were really the cause. They still function perfectly, and I'm facing the same problem on both the new RAM and CPU. I wouldn't have realized there was an issue without checking the hardware status. I'm using slots 2 and 4 (left to right, probably A2 and B2), but I've tested the dead RAM in all slots as well. My Ryzen system has a 7600X and a 4070 with an MSI Mag B650 and 32 GB G.Skill Flare 6000 CL 30. I'm almost wondering if the power supply unit or a cable from the PSU is the problem.

No, I'm not checking that.

Your setup uses a NZXT H5 flow, meaning the standoffs come ready to go.
