Ram is causing my PC to feel down.
Observed Ram running at 1200 instead of 2400. PC won’t post after trying BIOS fixes. Already destroyed two PCs; I’m really scared it’s aura-related. Tried resetting CMOS and swapping RAM types. Need help—I can’t afford a new machine. The easy debug light shows the CPU is still on. I’m very worried.
Released in 2018, it lacked modern features. Featured a Ryzen 5 2400G with RTX 3060, 12GB RAM (2x8GB), 2400MHz speed, 450W power supply, MSI B350M gaming rig, plus a 500GB Samsung SATA SSD and a 4TB hard drive.
Three possible issues: The 2400G includes an iGPU that might clash with the RTX3060. Is the iGPU powered down? The B350M could restrict your RAM from operating at maximum capacity or even enabling it. The 450W power supply isn't sufficient for a 3060 either. Updated April 28, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added details
It was just me handling it in single mode while I worked on the fix. The 3060 has been working well with the 450W PSU for two months now. The B350M should handle full speed since it recognized the top speed in the BIOS. Task manager and CPU-Z showed RAM at 1200 MHz when the PC started. Full troubleshooting steps – first changed the profile, but nothing worked. Then I tried overclocking RAM to check for performance issues, but Windows rejected it. My last resort was enabling "Gaming Mode," whatever that does.
Programs usually list RAM speed as half of what they claim. DDR means dual data rate. Expecting 2400 MHz RAM to show 1200 is normal. Changing the clock speed won’t make it work properly; stability requires the correct setting. BIOS should display 2400, but Windows software might report 1200.
