"Ram for Intel" vs "Ram for AMD"
"Ram for Intel" vs "Ram for AMD"
If it functions, it does but it mainly matters when the rams fail or you push performance too hard. On older systems that depend on FSB/BCLK OC, solid rams are crucial for achieving top clocks and FSBs. My board and cooling are in poor shape, so I’m not worried about RAM right now. But if I find a good EP45 UD3P, RAM will become an issue since those boards usually hit around 700 FSB. My team caps at 1250 on a P5Q, but maybe it can go higher with an UD3P. If not, I might need to build a Tec RAM cooler—tried making a heatsink from scrap PSU metal and now I’m just figuring out how to fit a Tec+cooler. Rams are usually okay on unlocked motherboards, but newer platforms have less room, so it could be worth the investment if you really want better performance.
Main thing for a build typically discussed here is for it to work. If it does it's OK and you're good to go. Yeah, not alot of room for BCLK/FSB anymore so grab those B-dies and clock the snot out of 'em. EDIT: If you've ever watched Buildzoid's HWbot roundup vids, you can checkout Roundup vid #20 - I was "Accused" of using black magic to clock my RAM as high as I had it with the chip I was running.
Haha all I need is a simple 1333 MHz CL9 to match my current stick (Not sure about the rest of the timings though)
