I overlooked a detail about the RAM I ordered—it’s DDR4 ECC, bare, and I was thinking of using a white heatsink to fit my design. Are the heatsinks interchangeable, or should I coordinate them with the parts I’m receiving? The item I have is a typical-looking RAM, but I’m after a standard appearance. I’m interested in this product: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000867120249.html. I’m open to white, blue, or black options, any of which would work best.

They should be okay. You're starting with pads first, then adding these on top. It looks like you're aiming for a great setup—beautiful sex with perfect placement of all kinds of main board color, fans, and article lamp. It really enhances the memory and chassis, making it look stunning.

Hey, glad you're here. I haven't paid much attention to system colors before, but this time I'm trying to match everything and see what happens. So far, creating a clean white build has been tougher than I thought, mainly because the GPU is the biggest hurdle (that problem seems mostly resolved, but we'll find out how it turns out).

Sure, I can help with that. You're looking for white backplates and want to know about painting the fan shrouds. It sounds like a solid project, though it might be more of a two-color build rather than a full white finish.

As long as the heat sinks aren't intended for FB RAM, using the correct size pads should work fine.

I'm acquiring a Firepro W7000, probably for casual use like Minecraft rather than gaming. I can take off and airbrush the shroud, and you're right about the motherboard being mostly white with some black areas. I plan to go for a black-and-white look (with red accents like the AMD cards, or maybe blue—still in progress) *pure* white is tough, I think. Apparently you can't paint the motherboard, but I got an all-white power supply, which helps. It'll be an open-frame case, initially black, but I’ll add some paint too.

Recording the build log now. The final project looks impressive—it sounds awesome!
