RAM remains a consideration for your Ryzen 1st gen setup. You’re weighing options between an MSI B450 PRO-M2 MAX and an MSI B350 Tomahawk, both of which support the same motherboards as listed by MSI. Your current Kingston HyperX HX426C15FB RAM sticks are compatible, and with a bit more budget you could upgrade to 16GB or 8GB modules. However, compatibility isn’t guaranteed—most listed RAMs aren’t marked as compatible in MSI’s guide, so you might want to double-check specific models before purchasing.

I can still work with a kit that isn’t listed, though there’s no assurance. Now I’m feeling nervous and wishing I hadn’t purchased the R5 first generation.
