I recently received a HPE 32Gb 2Rx4 PC4-2666V-R Smart Kit. I’m checking if it’s designed for servers only or can fit into a regular PC. I’m hoping it works in a typical machine so I can cut costs on my next upgrade. I heard Asus says Ryzen supports ECC memory without issues, but I’m not completely sure.
They are RDIMM memory with ECC protection. Some desktop processors support ECC, so you should verify compatibility. The Ryzen line doesn't officially back ECC, though there are reports it functions well. Ryzen Pro APUs offer this feature unofficially, while non-Pro models do not. Most standard CPUs have unapproved support.
