If you like running at top frame rates above 120, I suggest 3600-3800 memory with no higher than 16 cas latency for Zen 2. The only place to adjust your build is in the RAM area—overclocking isn’t really possible and PBO and Auto OC don’t help much, they can even hurt ST performance. Right now I own a high-end Samsung BDD kit, but it’s pricey mainly because I enjoy experimenting with overclocks and fine-tuning (I’m currently at 3800mhz with 14 cas timings). No matter what you choose, keep in mind this rule: memory speed divided by TCL, the bigger the number, the better. For instance, 3600mhz with 18 cas timings gives you a better result than 3200mhz with 14 cas timings. Regardless of your pick, always go further than XMP using the Dram Ryzen calculator.

Using XMP as it stands doesn't affect the outcome if you don't OC.

It reduces your overall efficiency. XMP is seldom used with precise settings and is usually quite flexible. It functions adequately, but adjusting it requires beginning with Ryzen.

I attempted to use the Ryzen Calculator for optimizing timing on Viber with a RAM of 3200 MHz, but encountered BSOD issues. I had to reset the BIOS several times before giving up.

For assistance, simply send me a direct message. Adjust the CAD and PROCODT configurations along with the voltage settings—higher voltages work well for most DDR4 boards, especially with good airflow. You’re doing great; during a 9-hour stress test it reached 50°C, but everything passed.
