You're considering upgrading your system. It's worth evaluating based on your usage. With a 16GB 3200MHz RAM setup on an ASUS B450, Ryzen 3800X, and RTX 2070, a 32GB upgrade could definitely improve performance, especially if you plan to run more demanding applications or future-proof your build. Check your specific workloads to see if the difference is noticeable.

It only matters if it fully utilizes the available RAM. Yes, it can spike to high levels. Upgrading might help, but real performance gains are unlikely unless the system is at full capacity.

How much memory are you utilizing? Extra RAM doesn’t speed things up unless you’re hitting the limit beyond 16GB. You won’t notice any improvement unless it’s at full capacity. It won’t be noticeable at all, not even slightly. Spending RAM unnecessarily is a significant waste of funds.

32 gigs isn't essential unless you're working on video editing. Instead, consider saving for other upgrades like a new GPU, improved cases, sleeved cables, and more.

I’d consider boosting to 3600MHz since AMD uses more memory than Intel, but stick with 16GB DDR4 RAM.

You don't have to; just increase the frequency slightly in the BIOS.

It would be better for him to avoid increasing the frequency and altering the bios.

It's actually quite straightforward—ten minutes is certainly preferable to wasting 80 USD.

32 gigabytes seems mainly for heavy video editing or maximizing RAM usage, though it’s hard to picture a game needing more than 16 gigabytes.
