I’m sharing this to see if it sparks interest from the developers. While I don’t plan to go into details about why I prefer Linux over Windows, I’ve made the switch to it about three months ago and really enjoy it. Over the past few years, Linux has seen big improvements—better drivers, more games supporting it, and a growing library. My Steam collection now has over 300 titles, with roughly half running on Linux, which wasn’t possible back then. The network drivers on Linux work much better than Windows, making online gaming smoother. I’m hoping my feedback will encourage more support for R6 Siege on Linux, so I don’t have to juggle dual booting or PCI passthrough. If you’re interested, you can check out the Ubisoft forum thread here: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/19...r-R6-siege. This idea started from a response I got from Ubisoft about my question on Linux support.
Also available for anyone who now knows how to navigate Linux more effectively than I do and can run Rainbow 6 Siege on Linux using tools similar to winehq. I own both Uplay and Steam editions of R6 Siege, but I’m unable to launch the game beyond the initial setup. From research and checking error logs, it freezes into either Battle Eye or Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 32bit.
