Looking for players online in this game world? I've been playing it more often lately. I'm focusing on building rather than scoring goals, aiming for the Tycoon mode (just one level below Robber Baron). I've tackled every map so far with three computer opponents and the Hardest Level. It's surprisingly straightforward, though I haven't reached the toughest stage yet—Robber Baron. I expect it will be tougher there because buying out rivals and earning millions takes time. I wish they offered a custom map creation feature. Personally, I favor the original Railroad Tycoon, which relied on grid-based placement. It's an evolution from older ASCII-style games, similar in feel. Maybe this is what I'm considering—hundreds of levels ahead.

That's $28, I only spend up to $5 per game, and I found Railroads at a good price.

It seems I’ve been through about 69 minutes of it. I might actually have the CD version as well. There’s also OpenTTD at their site.

+1 for OpenTTD. Su many hours wasted on this and so many more to come. It's really fun and addicting.
