R7 2700x Stock paired with Stock Cooler MSI B450m Mortar Max and HyperX Predator 3200MHz RTX 2080. Hello, I’m just starting with Ryzen and everything feels a bit odd. My CPU temps rise from 35°C to 46°C when idle, then drop to around 1600rpm for about five seconds before jumping back up to 46°C at full speed. It’s quite bothersome since the fans speed up and slow down every few seconds. The BIOS is set to default.
Regarding power settings, should I choose balanced, high performance, or Ryzen balanced?
If I clear the CMOS and reinstall Windows, what essential software do I need? Should I visit the driver page on the motherboard for additional setup?
Also, does a 1.4V supply voltage on the CPU seem normal?
Create a fan profile in the BIOS settings. Fine-tune it to your preferred temperatures and RPMs—experiment a bit. 2. Power mode is what you like best. Choose whatever suits you. 3. New installs are always a good idea. Make sure the chipset driver comes first, then update the BIOS, and finally install the software. 4. The 1.4v setting works well for a 2700X (I also have one!)—XFR boost reaches about 4.350ghz at around 1.5v, which is typical but varies by model.
I’ll use the latest update, but do you require Ryzen Master or additional essential tools for Ryzen?
