Hello! It's great you're starting with OC'ing. For Ryzen Master, aim for around 1.8 to 2.0V per core if you want better performance without overheating. If you're comfortable with lower voltages, 1.35 is solid but you might notice a slight drop in speed. Adjust based on your cooling setup and desired balance between power and efficiency.

Alright, thanks, like I said I had no idea they could go so low, I saw it running at like 1.4v sometimes with everything auto, so I assumed it was okay, processor is happy and cool now running at around 1.32

The 4.2Ghz 1.325V setting works well for running my 3600.

It's strange I delayed this; the weather is nicer now and things are moving quicker. I'll give it a shot, though my cooler isn't great, so I might not hit the target.

I manually run the 3600 using PBO, which provides stable and reasonable performance with solid boosts near maximum manual overclocking. Why bother with additional overclocking? The improvements in speed are limited by rising heat and power usage. In my opinion, it's not worth the effort. Lowering the VCORE might be a better choice since most boards already set it too high at stock. With PBO active and sensible VCORE adjustments, this CPU runs quickly and maintains good performance despite temperature-based auto-OC.

The voltage initially motivated me, but regardless of what I tried, PBO and Auto OC consistently reached 3.9ghz. The chip stayed at a maximum temperature of 65°C. Reducing the voltage myself and doing it manually appears to be effective now—it’s quiet, efficient, and faster than when I first began. EDIT: It’s also enjoyable.

This setup is known as silicon lottery. My 3600 on a first-gen B350-F also runs at 3.9 with all cores active, using STOCK settings and a max of 1.29 volts, reaching up to 4.2. If I manually adjust it to 4.1, it stays stable but gets significantly hotter, making the upgrade not worth the heat for speed gains. At 4.2 all cores it becomes unstable. I believe older non-X models are the ones that often struggle with overclocking and may not perform well after adjustment. In my experience, the first-gen board might play a role too. But honestly, a 7% performance boost isn't worth the heat it generates. It's just about what feels good for you—if it works, it's fine. I just need a functioning system; most stock/PBO configurations push it to its limits, unlike the first-gen Ryzen where simple boost clock tweaks made sense.
