I'm testing a 1600x on an MSI b350 Tomahawk with EVGA DDR4 16GB 3000mhz. I've adjusted the CPU and memory in BIOS and it's been stable for hours. When booting into BIOS, the CPU is listed at 3.9Ghz, and Windows shows the same. I ran prime95 but cpu-z during stress tests doesn't reflect the 3.9Ghz, instead showing 2.2Ghz. I've reviewed the BIOS settings again and everything seems correct—followed overclocking guides for the board. Screenshot attached, thank you very much.

Yes, Prime 95 won't push your clock limits. It will, though, boost your overall usage. The i7-6700k reports running below its standard speed and is currently at 4.7!

Bishopi5:
Yes, you're correct. Prime 95 won't push your clocks to their limit. It will, however, optimize your usage. My i7-6700k is running below stock speeds and is actually at 4.7! So it's functioning properly, even if it doesn't show the full clock speeds.

Yes you're correct, Prime 95 won't push your clocks to their limit. It will, however, increase your usage. My i7-6700k is running below stock speeds and is actually at 4.7! It's functioning properly, just not showing the real clock speeds?

CPU-z is still having trouble interpreting Ryzen clock data. A fix should be available soon.
