That's a really poor build for a motherboard. It probably won't support the CPU's boost settings because of weak power delivery. Think about going with the Pro-DV instead.

It's probably not necessary to refresh the BIOS. If possible, avoid purchasing that motherboard. Search for options featuring heatsinks on the VRM (the components between the IO shield and CPU socket). As it stands, this board works well with the processor and should handle any 65W TDP chip, provided you don't intend to upgrade beyond an 8-core CPU. For future upgrades, a board with VRM heatsinks is advisable.

The board arrived before the CPU, and the CPU is still in its early stages. Just check with the store—most offer it for free and include an ASRock B450 Pro4.

From this ranking, I believe it’s a solid motherboard. For instance, it sits one tier higher than pro4. Did I overlook something? LE: Not really, that one seems better. Edited May 25, 2020 by likeastar20
