Hey everyone! I'm excited to share my experience with the ASUS PG42UQ monitor. It's got a 120Hz OC'd to 138Hz OLED 4K display and runs smoothly on Windows 11. However, I've noticed this "Pixel Cleaning" feature takes about six minutes to finish—really long! Since I use it almost nonstop for gaming and work, I'm wondering if I should manually run the cleaning every time the pop-up appears. Would it be better to follow the reminder and spend those six minutes, or let it take care of itself? I'm curious to hear your advice from fellow tech lovers! Thanks a lot! - Keiko-chan

I don't feel the need to repeat this each time—just launch a screensaver. In the future, you can simply type normally for such a brief inquiry.

Hi there, Kawaii sister! The pixel cleaning helps prevent monitor-chan from getting those unpleasant burnt spots after extended use. I believe it’s a smart move to let it take care of itself and stay in good shape. It might be a bit bothersome, but keeping monitor-chan healthy is crucial—especially since you rarely put it into standby mode.

This experience is really tough to handle, but for maintaining the OLED, you definitely need to allow the cleaning process to proceed. The PG42UQ seems to be the most bothersome compared to my 42" C2 OLED.

Hello! Your point is spot on, and I’m glad we’re on the same page. Using a screensaver seems much easier than running the pixel refresher manually each time. I’ll definitely give it a shot to better look after my monitor. Thanks for your tip—keeping things simple helps a lot. Your advice is really helpful, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain things clearly. It’s nice to feel supported by experienced members like you. Have a great day!

If I had made that choice, I’d pause whatever I was doing and let it operate. Likely I’d take a short break—maybe around six minutes in a 12-hour shift—and put the system to sleep so it could restart smoothly.

You're welcome! I'll let it run fully. Regarding your question, the pg42uq automatically handles standby mode without needing a power button on the remote or monitor. Let me know if you need more details! Thanks for your feedback—it's always helpful to hear from community members like you.
