Quick Noob Question: Voltage
Quick Noob Question: Voltage
Hi everyone,
OK, ImaNewbie: I just set up this system for the first time:
i7-6850K (Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2)
ASUS X99-DELUXE II (BIOS 801)
32GB (DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600) G.Skill TridentZ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB [GIGABYTE G1 Gaming] PCIE #1
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB [GIGABYTE] PCIE #3
Power supply: Corsair AX1200i
Samsung SSD 950 PRO 512GB (M.2 slot)
SAMSUNG SSD PM830 256GB x2
Seagate 2TB
Monitor Asus ROG PG279Q (GTX 1060)
Monitor ViewSonic VX2450WM (GTX 960)
Monitor Acer GD235HZ (GTX 960)
Running WIN 10 Pro
I’ve been overclocking with ASUS Five-Way and also doing it manually. It seems I’ve stopped using ASUS 5-Way and kept diving deeper into manual settings.
Anyway, my current overclok is 4.4 at 1.42v.
My question: Is 1.42v too high for this setup and configuration?
I’ve done RealBench stress and AIDA64 stability tests. Temperatures across all cores stayed under 80°C, one peak at 81°C, the rest in the low sixties to mid-seventies. No crashes or BSODs.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
At the edge of a 14nm Intel CPU, I recommend moving it down to 4.3 to reduce stress on both the CPU and the motherboard.
You're near the maximum for a 14nm Intel CPU. I recommend moving back to 4.3 to reduce stress on both the CPU and motherboard.
Thanks for your reply, scuzzycard.
I've saved multiple BIOS profiles and plan to go back to a stable 4.3 with lower voltage, or at least until I learn more about this setup.
Thanks again.
