Hey everyone. I'm dealing with a Windows 11 issue where after leaving the PC for 5-10 minutes and returning, right-clicking the desktop on the main screen doesn't work for 5-15 seconds. It happens occasionally, though it's not constant. I recently installed Windows 11 and had this problem before too, but never experienced it again. I'm hoping an update will resolve it. If anyone has any tips or solutions, I'd really appreciate it!

The screen could be in a sleep state, and it might simply take some time to begin showing content.

Yes, but the screen remains on and I can move around using the mouse. However, when I right-click or attempt to select the desktop, it doesn't function properly. After about 5 to 10 seconds, it works again. It doesn't happen consistently.

When using a hard drive or slow SSD, it could be in a sleep state. Similar to when a computer starts up slowly and takes 15 seconds to respond, this might indicate a CPU issue or a failing drive/SSD. Consider noting some system specifications.

My PC is okay.
I have an x2 M.2 SSD and one SATA SSD.
A 3070 GPU, a 5800X3D CPU, 32 GB RAM at 3600 MHz, a B550 motherboard.
I haven’t experienced this issue before.
Other applications, browsers, and games are functioning properly, so the hardware seems fine.
I believe something might have affected my system. I’ve tried a few solutions.
I think it could even be related to the Avast software I recently installed.
I also completed a full Memtest86 run without any errors.
3DMark shows good performance too.

Restart the system, remove and reinstall GPU drivers, address various issues, and perform other bug fixes. Run Windows Defender to check for malware.

I also tried those, and clearly I scanned for viruses using both Windows Defender and Avast...

I don’t have any advice to offer. At this stage I’d just accept it, though others might not. Try searching your issue on Google using your PC details to check if anyone else encountered it and found a solution.

It seems my system might have a problem. Should I consider installing the chipset from the motherboard website and SATA drivers? The games have worked well without them. I also recall that a Windows update can sometimes introduce bugs, but they often get fixed in a later update. Many people say Windows 11 isn't great. Perhaps I should revert to version 10.

Such things are typically not needed, but they might resolve your issue. Consider updating MOBO drivers or something similar; it can sometimes help.
