My laptop has two USB ports, one USB 3.0 and another USB 2.0. I might not have explained myself clearly, so it seems like the seller thought I only had one USB 3 port left. I plan to test by connecting the auxiliary USB to a standard 5V charger on the wall. The seller is now getting the item from a dealer, which means it will take some time before I receive it. I'll keep you updated. Thank you.

I completed a full setup and clean installation of Windows 10 on my laptop, and the problem no longer happens. I've placed an order for that cable, but it hasn't arrived yet. However, it looks like the issue is resolved.

The cable was delivered and the usbtreeview app displays the connection as USB 3. The primary cable uses USB 3 while the auxiliary port is USB 2. However, problems were fixed after reformatting and a clean installation.

However, it's not entirely clear whether the problem was connected to USB power sources. The Y cable is still not being used at the moment.

The symptoms you mention (errors during data copies) clearly point to insufficient power for the drive unit. It could have been a communication glitch between the enclosure and the mobo. Because we lack specific information about the mobo USB3 controller chip or the software driver, it remains unclear what exactly caused the issue. If the system still runs without any extra power supply, it reduces the chance that power was the main problem.
