you're unsure about the best upgrade for your current setup. with an rx 6600 and i7 6700k, you should consider whether upgrading the gpu to rx 6700x or the cpu to i7 9700k would be more beneficial.

right now i have rx 6600 and i7 6700k We're going to need more context, what are you working with currently? Please list the specs to your build like so: CPU: CPU cooler: Motherboard: Ram: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. should i upgrade gpu to rx 6700xt or cpu to i7 9700k We're going to need more context here too. Why are you looking towards an upgrade? Where are you located? How much have you allocated towards your upgrade path? You're advised tostylize your thread with info asked of in this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. to help us better tailor a response. Just to add, you will need to swap to a new motherboard if you decide to migrate to the 9th Gen Intel processor. Moved thread to Systems section from Components section.

CPU: i7 6700k
CPU cooler: scythe fuma 2
Motherboard: asus maximus viii hero
Ram: 16 ddr4
SSD/HDD: ada 800
GPU: rx 6600
PSU: corsair vs550
Chassis: unknown model
OS: windows 10
Monitor: 144hz
Reason for considering upgrades is low frame rates in games like warzone, and you prefer not to spend a lot.

this computer is used for various tasks, and switching the psu to a top tier brand allows for a 4060 without any bottlenecks.

Review the historical CPU and GPU performance data on YouTube. It seems the GPU upgrade will provide the greatest improvement since it often restricts overall speed.
