I just acquired a new inland keyboard, also called proHT, paired with a mouse. This is my third one, and the previous two have performed excellently. I particularly appreciate the compact keyboard size while still having full keys for numbers and smooth cursor movement. With this model, however, the mouse cursor tends to jitter and dart around like a fly, pausing when I simply move the mouse. It’s frustrating because it sometimes leads me to select the wrong item on busy screens where the cursor shifts over the next field at the wrong moment. The mouse pad is a hard surface circle positioned off the side of a keyboard shelf holder, which is part of a taskmate adjustable height monitor shelf stand I use. This allows me to stand instead of sit, helping break up long hours in front of my PC. Is this just a problematic mouse? Are there any settings I can adjust to fix this issue? Windows 10

i've run into the same issue a couple of times.
each time it was the mouse itself causing it. trying on different systems and the same issue would eventually arise again.
replacing with another mouse was the only solution i ever found.
if it's a new set, returning for refund or RMA'ing to the manufacturer should still be an option.
'Settings > Devices > Mouse' gives the option for cursor speed and double click speed
but not DPI or other mouse related options.
those would be controlled by any available mouse manufacturer control software.

Thanks, it seems the issue isn't with the mouse itself. I found a workaround by using a slightly bumpy finish on the mouse pad, similar to orange peel paint, which helps prevent interference from the laser beams. I used a cutout from a standard office folder and everything functioned well. It’s a bit tricky to show clearly in the pictures, but if you’re familiar with paint finishes, you’ll notice the texture. I’m surprised the task master didn’t handle this better, though the monitor stand is really good. If anyone else has the same problem, make sure to check the mouse pad area for smoothness.

Tom's doesn't support file uploads, only links.
A long time ago I had a mouse pad that also influenced the cursor in a similar manner.
It featured an unusual 3D texture resembling raised clear plastic bubbles.
The mouse would occasionally jump around when the laser passed through some of the plastic.
I believe manufacturers would have stopped using such surfaces by now.
It was a straightforward solution and didn't cause any issues with the mouse.
