Hello forums,
I'm considering switching from a 3080 to a 5070 TI ahead of the expected GPU price hike. The main concern is whether it will actually fit in my PC. Right now my 3080 measures 12.7 inches, with a 1-inch gap between the front radiator and the GPU. The new model is 13.46 inches long, which should provide about 0.24 inches of clearance. Will this affect temperatures significantly? Should I be worried? Here are the specs:
RTX 3080
Ryzen 7800x3d
Rog Strix B650E-F Gaming
Kingston DDR5 2x32gb 6000mhz
Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2tb
Samsung 980 1TB
Corsair 1000W Gold
Corsair 4000X Mid Tower
NZXT Kraken Elite V2 360mm

Corsair 1000W Gold
Is this an RMx RMe or RM Shift unit? How old is the PSU? Did it power the RTX 3080 through out it's tenure?
Corsair 4000X Mid Tower
Is this the case;

you're working with?
Will temperatures be affected greatly here?
Since your calc's show you have a bit of clearance between the two(which is 6.35mm)...might as well try it out and in the event that your temps do go seem bad, simply take the front fascia off the case and if the temps improve then you're in need of a new case(one that has better airflow). IMHO, you might not see bad temps though you will hear turbulence due to the fans.

Yes, that's correct. The PSU is an RMx 2021 and I've experienced no issues with it supplying power to the system. The GPU was bought in 2022 and has remained problem-free throughout.

I placed the order for the GPU, hoping it will fit without any problems. If it doesn't work, I might have to purchase a new case.

to address your query about temperatures, it really depends on how the case handles airflow. Which 5070 Ti was it? Also, it's recommended to check the link provided: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/p/pc-...ev...dPYpnP9YM9. Do not use the adapters that come with the cards, as they can pose a fire risk and are prone to damage. A 90-degree version exists but it's difficult and may be easily damaged.
