Question5070 in my pc
Question5070 in my pc
Hello, I'm checking if upgrading to a 5070 is worthwhile for my 3070 setup.

CPU: i7-13700k
I understand the motherboard supports only PCIe 4.0, but will it support a 5070?
Or perhaps it requires PCIe 5.0, could you clarify? Help me understand.
i7-13700k is compatible with PCIe 5th generation, offering excellent performance.
Completely in agreement. The 5070 doesn't offer good value compared to AMD's newest options, and Nvidia's drivers have been particularly problematic this year.
I agree with the other two users. I was actually planning to upgrade my GPU and bought a 9070xt last Monday. It cost me $699, which was a good price.
I had also reserved a 5070 through my local Microcenter for $599, but I kept thinking about its 12GB of VRAM. If you check YouTube or similar sites, many people mention that 10-11GB is typical and the 5070 seemed reasonable, though I wonder how long it would last before VRAM becomes a problem.
I checked the non-XT 9070 models, but in my case the non-XT version was only about $30-40 less than the XT. So why not opt for a faster card?
I suppose if they released an 18GB RTX 5070 Super, it would make games more interesting even if it wasn’t as powerful as the 9070, especially if it stayed cheaper. The 5070 with 12GB VRAM could still be a solid choice and might last through most of this generation. But what about in the future? With new consoles and more demanding games, especially higher resolutions like 1440p or beyond, the 5070 might struggle eventually.
