You're looking for a KVM switch that works with both PCs, uses the same display (Samsung Q900A - 8k), and connects the Logitech G502 mouse and G510S keyboard via wired connections. You also want to know if an HDMI 2.1 switch would be suitable.

The selected device provides USB connections, but it does not include a display source from either platform. You should consider a KVM switch such as this.

You would need an HDMI port because both devices are linked to the identical screen using HDMI 2.1 technology.

It depends on your preference. If you're okay changing monitor inputs each time you switch PCs, then yes. But if you prefer a single button for monitor, keyboard, and mouse, then it works.

Also, I’m pretty sure the Ugreen USB switch I used had issues. Notifications from my Apple Watch would cause the keyboard and mouse to disconnect and reconnect every time.

I get it
That's a positive aspect with the HDMI switch, though the concern remains: does it introduce input lag???
Thanks, sizzling

I need to know if using your mouse and keyboard (USB, both) for two PCs connected to the same display (8k - 60 Hz) works. Does this work, guys? I just found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0B1YFCPGX/ I'm new to KVM switches. Thanks!

Check if your devices support HDMI 2.1 and whether a displayport is needed for 8K display output.

Not everyone understands that using a KVM requires consistent output from both PCs. We frequently receive inquiries about laptops with HDMI and PCs with DVI. I have seen some HDMI 2.1 devices, but I’m not very excited about them. My preferred reseller doesn’t carry an 8K model. I might hold off a bit to let manufacturers release more products. The reviews I’ve found are mixed, so it’s a decision if you’re willing to spend around a couple hundred dollars on something that could work or not.
