Question Very strange keyboard issue?
Hi,
I've been using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 850 for several years without any issues, but today some keys stopped working. They were both CTRL, WINDOWS KEY, ALT and TAB. I tried all the fixes suggested online—uninstalling drivers, updating them, restoring to an earlier point, changing USB ports, restarting the PC—but nothing helped. Then I tested it on a laptop I own at home, but the problem continued.
I realized the keyboard might be faulty, so I switched to a new HP Pavilion 800 wired USB model I had at home and connected it to my PC. However, the issue persisted. Almost all the keys still didn’t respond (TAB worked but others didn’t). The good news is that the HP keyboard functions perfectly on the laptop.
In short, the old keyboard has key problems on both my PC and laptop, while the new one only has issues on the PC. I’m sure it’s not a hardware failure, as the second keyboard is brand new, but I’m still unsure what’s happening. I’d appreciate any suggestions.
